I  subscribe to a number of blogs and in particular I pay attention to three of them above all others – Seth Godin’s, Ryan Holiday’s and The Daily Stoic.

Why do I value them? Because they make me think. They make me reflect on my own situation. It makes me pause and in that moment who knows what can happen, what can shift. You don’t have to agree with them, in fact you may completely disagree, but the important thing is that you have opened yourself up to look at the world in a different way. Every time you do a subtle shift takes place, you are altered.

And you don’t know what the difference is that may make the difference, which is something that as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist I am keenly aware of when I am working with somebody. It’s about creating gaps, opportunities for new ways of seeing your life and being open to a new interpretation. We all see the world in our own way, believing it to be the truth. It’s not. It’s our truth based on our experiences which have shaped our thinking and the stories we’ve been told and that we tell ourselves every day. If this weren’t true then we’d all have the same reactions to everything, but we don’t. So do yourself a favour – subscribe to some blogs and see what those people have to say. You might not like what they say, but they may change your world.
