Cognitive Hypnotherapy Explained
It happens to us all – we find ourselves in a situation and we are triggered to react in a certain way, as though there are a set of instructions that are making us behave in a way that’s unhelpful or unwanted. We look back and wonder why we did what we did when it’s not what we want.
There are a set of instructions that are making you behave or react in a particular way. They’re controlled by your unconscious.
No matter how many times you tell yourself that you won’t react that way again you will because at some point something negative happened and your unconscious learned from that. It wants to protect you from the negative situation or one that is similar to it and so triggers your response.
Below is a video by Quest founder Trevor Silvester that explains more about how Cognitive Hypnotherapy works.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy utilises ideas and techniques from many schools including modern Hypnotherapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Positive Psychology and Cognitive therapy to offer a powerful and tailored approach to modifying these patterns and responses so that you are no longer controlled by them.
Because you are an individual with your own perspectives and attitudes I work with you in a unique and tailored way to make the changes that you want to make in your life. Everything we do together will be tailored to you, to your needs. It’s a partnership – we work together and together we’ll find the unique path that leads to the life you want.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is brief therapy. Its powerful techniques are designed to bring about change rapidly in a safe, secure and supportive environment.
